Re: Audi stuff in "Automobile"
As a both driver of Honda, and Audi, I have to admit that both
are excellent cars. I like my 85 4000s 1.8 because, it is
economical in gas mpg and it drives like GTI, maybe because it
has similar design. Sometimes, i regret that I did not get
quattro, however, 1.8 4cyl is a very sporty, fast(relatively),
reliable, friendly, and comfortable car in my opinion.
On the other hand, I put 30,000 miles on Prelude within a year
and half, it is a very fast and reliable car, but lacks the
characteristics that Audi has. I really like the 4 wheel steering,
which adds ultra precision on top of the well known honda's
handling, plus 2.3 4cyl which produces 160hp, which is more
than enough for 120+ mph. However, my brother told me that
when he was racing against Vtec model of Prelude, Vtec
flied away from his sight at above 110 mph. So, I guess Vtec
works in very high speed, but, how often we drive over 110mph?
0-60 for Prelude SI is 7.8, and for Vtec is 7.2. Even though i
like the Prelude, it lacks two doors, and I really doubt that I
wanna keep this car for more than 10 years. Needless to say,
Audi 100CS add lots of leather, wood, CD changer, 4spd Auto
tranny, and 3 year free maintence plan and road side assistant,
memory seats, infar red remote entry,
on top of the everything I said about my 4000s.
Therefore, I would like to contribute my opinion that Audi and
Honda is a very different but both excellent cars and is subject
to the person's preferences.
