Dan,

I guess I used the wrong terminology to describe the fan control buttons on the Digital Control A/C
system. The Bently shows this Digital system was used beginning in Nov. 1985.  The older system
like in my (9/85) 5000 has the following buttons displayed left to right in this order.

OFF 
ECON
LO
AUTO
HI
Defrost (symbol)
Rear window defog (symbol)

The later (11/85  forward) digital system has the following controls displayed from left to right.

OFF
ECON
BI-LEV
AUTO
Defrost (symbol)
LO
HI
The rear window defogger switch has been relocated in the center console area.

The Bently manual says  "The blower speed can now be controlled manually. Push the LO or HI button
while in any selected mode and blower speed will raise or lower".

Does your system have these newer controls?
