Don't air expanding when going from high to low pressure cool the
surrounding environment. Example: letting air out of tire cools one's
finger and the valve.
My thermodynamics is very rusty so I can be waaay off base. But this set-up
would help cool the turbo vanes by the cool air injection and the expansion
of the air itself.
my 2 cents.
