Don't know about Sachs sports, but the OEM shocks on my '87 5000TQ were
the hydraulic Sachs. Lousy shocks in my opinion, too soft and begin to
leak fluid and are gone in about 40K miles. I replaced the second set
with Boge Turbo Gas which I am very happy with. Firmer than the Sachs
hydraulics and handle well without making the ride harsh.
BTW, my '87 Mercedes 560SEL also came with Sachs from the factory.
Replaced the front ones recently with good old Bilsteins - need to
replace the rear Sachs too. One thing odd about the Sachs in my MB;
they became stiffer (actually too stiff) as they aged, rather than
get weaker (softer). Anyone experience this in Sachs or any other shocks?
