Andrew, O2 (Oxygen) sensor senses the amount of oxygen in your exhaust
gases....  The theory is, the more O2 the leaner the mixture must be, the
less O2 the mmore rich your mixture...  So if your O2 is not working
properly, you may be getting an incorrect reading from the sensor (like may
be leaner than it should be) and this will affect your knock sensor (lean
and/or heat = knock) which could be the reason your boost is not going as hi
as you would expect...  The techron (Chevron product) has been shown to be
one of the most effective FI component cleaners, it was  designed specially
for VW/AUDI in the form of part #000 000 000 (?) known to your dealer as Fuel
Additive.  I would suggest a couple flushes with this (1 bottle to 1tank of
gas) then replace the fuel filter, could be an inexpensive fix to your
malady, and at 5.00 bottle could be the cheapest parts visit you'll have...
 BTW (and you remember this abr.) chevron has this available thru auto parts
stores in FI injector cleaner (my trak auto has it, but same price as
dealer), the active and key ingredient here is techron...  Had to say it one
more time...
