You probably have the standard odometer problem ... There is a plastic worm 
gear that drives the odos.  It is pressed onto a steel pin, which puts the 
plastic in tension.  Eventually the plastic will fracture and the pin will 
rotate freely without changing the odometer.  Look in your local yellow pages 
for a speedometer repair shop that services VDO speedos (or check the arch-
ives).  If you can pull the gauges out of the dash yourself (not too tough) 
you can probably get the problem fixed for less than $50.
