Re: Honda Accord V6
The new Accord V6 is the 2.7L used in earlier Acura Legends. Now I don't know
about how long the Accord body will last, but my brother has a Sterling 827SL
which also has the same engine. His odometer died at 150K (probably 180-190K now),
and the engine/car still moves like it did when he bought it (60K). What's more is
that he does not maintain the car (10K/oil chng., changed the plugs once). I
agree that $25K for a Honda is steep, especially when you can get an Audi for close
to the same, but for some strange reason, the guy who buys the Honda will get
close to $20K three years from now, while the guy who buys the Audi will get
more like $13K-15K. If Audi is what you want to drive (that's what I want/have),
then you'll find all kind of reasons to pick an Audi over anything else. If
you are in the market for resale value/reliability, Honda is a good choice.
BTW, a friend of mine had an '84 Accord and was at 278K when he totalled it.
