Re: V8 4 A 20V?

hmm, have you guys seen the engine compartment of the v8? no doubt
that the light weight of the engine is one of its main attractions,
but you also have to consider the entire packaging.

for one thing you need a full width radiator, with one mechanical and one
electric fan. none of this side mounted weenie stuff which is barely
adequate for the 5. the radiator also incorporates an oil cooling
radiator and a slushbox fluid radiator. (!)

next, the battery has to be tossed into the trunk or under the
back seat. no room.

two distributors, two catalytic convertors. the exhausts from
each bank meet at a "H" junction for a single OXS. the OXS
is located at the "-" section of the "H". how would you do this
on the 90?

many of the functions of the v8 engine is electronically controlled.
for example the electric cooling fan is controlled by a 32 bit CPU that
sits behind the speedometer. there are no thermostats here, just
temperature sensors and switches.

i think that fitting the v8 engine itself in is probably possible.
it is not that clear how you would adequately cool it and run the
exhausts and catalysts.
