The mystery thickens (was "Re:Help ! Car immobilized)

	Story so far:
'85 Audi 5000 Turbo starts shaking strongly (steering
wheel and front-end) coming in to work on Monday. Wheel bearing,
I suspect. CV joint, some erudite list members surmise. Check
the wheel lug nuts, still others say. It's raining, so all I
do is check the lug nuts and tighten a couple a little bit.

	The Saga Continues

Yesterday, I had a local shop check the car out. They called
in half an hour and said they couldn't find anything wrong.
"Morons," I babbled to myself. "Should've had it towed to
the Audi dealership". So I went down to the shop to show them
that a failure in a German car is definite, precision failure: none
of this waffling around. Drove the car five miles at various speeds
on all sorts of roads: not a whimper could be coaxed out of the
	front-end, far less a shake.

I then asked them to put it up on the rack and take a look at the
underside. Right outer CV boot had a huge rip in it, but the
wheel passed all the shake tests I could think of. This is
the same boot I had replaced five months ago, so I'm not happy.
Chances are the CV joint's toast.

So guess what I'll be doing this weekend ....
