VW Quantum Synchro

If this has already been adressed on the list I am sorry,
but I was just wondering if anyone out there knew how much
the Quantum Synchro shared mechanicly with the 4000 Q, I
have always imagined the 016 tranny was much the same, but
never knew for sure and often wondered if any suspension
parts were compatible as OEM VW stuff is very expensive
compared to even Sach's sport stuff for the 4000, I owned a
Quantum Synchro and my father owned an '83 Quattro from about
'90 to '92 but not much seemed compatible from the wagon to the
turbocharged beast.  Currently a number of my friends
own 4000's but I always liked the wagon better for hauling
stuff.  Mine was near expiring when I sold it with 150,000
on the clock but had been run for 25,000 with a Callaway turbo
I was lucky enough to find on a junked Coupe GT, the person I
sold it to found a tranny but need suspension bits and I was
hoping to help him out with any info I could find but
rec.autos.vw has been largely useless, these things were pretty
uncommon.  Dad's beautiful black '83 Quattro unfortunately did
not last it was without a doubt the best car I have ever driven, 
but electrical problems drove him to sell it.
