You know, just when you think you have it solved... It started again
today.. so maybe that WASNT it! But I found out EXACTLY what it is. On
the rear of the round catalytic converter, is the folded lip where the
sides and ends are joined, This lip is hitting the transmission housing.
I could see where it rubs. My temporary cure was to wrap welding cloth
around it to see if it quieted it. It did. But I knew it wouldnt last
long. It didnt! It seems like just a design flaw. Original exhaust, never
hit, not bent etc, just really close. Seems like the only cure is to bend
the lip on the cat!? Cheesy but effective. Havent tried it yet, it looks
as easy to bend as cast iron!!! Ill try it though, With my luck it will
brake, and Ill have to spend big$$ on a new one that will rattle also..
maybe Ill just leave the damn thing! (nothing ventured nothing gained!)
See ya, thanks
