Objective speaking, other than looks, what is it you don't like about
Porsches? Does the (VW-powered) 914, 911 or 944 beat you in Solo II?
Enquiring minds want to know.

Prior to the 944T, I had an '87 RX7, which while providing decent
perf, IMO did not have enough, how shall we say, *character*, i.e. utterly
boring to drive fast. Prior to that, an '87 8V Gti, more fun, easier to
toss around. Prior to that, a '75 911 Targa (lesson on NOT buying a Porsche
while still in college skipped but as I remind my Dad, I made money on this
one).
I have to say the 944T is the *best* car I've owned on all scales of
perf/price/value/maintenance. If you can do your own maintenance, it's not
any more expensive than an Audi to maintain.
