I'm really surprised to see this thread (no flame, gentlemen), but Ohio,
especially I70, has had a reputation as a gaint, permanent, and *very*
chickensh*t speed-trap for as far back as I can recall (even longer, I can
only recall as far back as this morning, after 0800, to be more precise...)

Seriously, going from Texas or Oklahoma, I have always chosen (ostensibly) less
desirable southern routes through Kentucky or Tennessee (I done both) for no
other reason than to avoid Ohio's *Notorious* Speed-traps. I've always used
85 as my (minimum) nominal cruising speed for long trips. In '72, when all
interstates allowed 70 (or higher) I went from OK to DC on a Honda CB750, and
went south to avoid Ohio. In '77, from DC to San Angelo, on a Kaw Z1b, through
Tennessee, to avoid Ohio.

I know you guys spoke about I71, not I70, but what's in a name...This is old
news (but you *are* doing a service to those unaware of the news...)

Cheers, <vbg>
