Watch the news stands (or even better, check out the public library) for the RD 
issue of Crap & Drivel.  "Stealth"yness ("Stealth"yness?) is one of the things 
they test for.  Off hand, I can't  remember what units rank highly and what are
noisy, but my RD9xl was *very* "Stealthy," and that was the reason I chose it.
That and the fact that it ranked *very* highly among all test parameters.
