Re: Timing belt for 20V
I've always been told that timing belts should be changged every 60,000 miles
on any car. The belts will usually last longer than that, however. My (her,
whatever) 84 5kS went until about 105,000 miles until the belt slipped three
teeth one day after a full tune-up. How annoying. Anyway, the mechanic who
replaced the belt said that I was lucky that the belt only slipped and didnt'
break, because serious valve damage could occur when a belt snaps. So I've
been replacing timing belts at 60,000 miles ever since. Dunno about how easy
your 90 will be, but let me know because my sisters 80 needs a belt also! I
know you have a different motor than her, but getting to it should be about the
same, and that's the part I'm not sure of... Good luck! Of course. YMMV.
