"Hydraulic" revisited
Thanks for all of the stuff on hydraulic fluid. I think some people
might have misunderstood, so here's some notes:
1. I know all 5000 series take Pentosin(I think all 5-cylinder systems)
2. I know there is a difference between this and the ATF systems
3. I know the difference between "hydraulic" and "power steering" fluid
What the post was asking was:
Since I have a cross-breed (mutt?) of a VW and an Audi, which fluid
"should" my car use? I cannot determine what's in it, and I don't trust
what the previous owner may or may not have used. I have the Haynes, the
Bentley manuals, but can't seem to determine what I should use.
The Redline sounds very good, if it's compatable (Should be Jeff)
If I *need* to use the Pentosin, I'll buy it. I know what it is, and I
have some right now. It's just that I've heard *very* bad things about
putting ATF where Pentosin should be, and I would assume that to put
Pentosin where ATF should be would be just as "bad".
Thanks all, but I just got a bit confused,
