Re: 82 wheel offset & misc autox help
I've had great results using the yoko A008RSIIs on the '86 and '84
4000Qs, though I wouldn't otherwise run a Japanese-made tire. I run
drastically different pressures F&R to dial-out most of the dreaded
understeer, like 40-45 F and 30-32 R. Also, set-up the alignment with
maximum negative camber. You'll have fun!

Actually, I was using the A008RSs on my RX-7 also, and have been a die-hard
Yoko fan since the A001R first came out. Quite awhile ago, I had owned a
Prelude SI (my first fwd) and right after purchase, put on a set of A001Rs
for street use. I found that on the front driver, the extreme stickiness (is
that a real word?!?) significantly magnified an already bad torque steer
problem. Right now on the GT I have Comp TA's (not the "R") and in
"enthusiastic" street driving have found them to be a good compromise with a
pretty stiff sidewall, but not "too" sticky (ie, not too much torque steer)
I never tried autox with the 'lude, so I don't know if the torque steer problem
would have surfaced in that environment or not.
