Audi engine news from AutoWeek
Saw this in the 10 April 1995 issue of AutoWeek, pg. 9:
Audi's counter strike ...
Audi plans to counter the new Mercedes E-Class and the
upcoming BMW 5-Series by adding two new five-valve
engines to the A6 lineup. At the entry level, the 125-hp,
20-valve, 1.8-liter four from the A4 will replace the
older 115-hp, 16-valve, 2.0-liter four.
At the top end, a 193-hp, 30-valve, 2.8-liter V6 will
replace the current 174-hp, 24-valve, 2.8-liter V6.
Then it talks about the S6 wagon coming soon, and that the S6 wagon
will be shown at the New York Auto Show later this month.
That's it, that's all that was in the short item in the
World News section.
Anybody able to find out any more, like when will we get the
new V6 in the US?
