5000 Quattro suspension help
The time has come for me to replace the shocks at all four corners of
my 1988 5000Q (non-turbo). I've followed with great interest the various
shock discussions over the last few weeks, but I still am not sure I have
all the answers to my questions. Any advice on the following issues will
be geratly appreciated.
It is my understanding that the non-turbo quattro has the same suspension
setup as the turbo Q. Is this true? I really liked the ride of the OEM stuff,
though I would like to stiffen it up a little. Boge Turbo Gas seems to be the
consensus favorite for replacement shocks. Is this the OEM shock on my car or
do I have the regular oil shock?
Since all I do is commute in the car, will progressive rate spring offer any
real advantage?
Finally, what else should I replace while I'm having the shocks done?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
