not a good idea mike....  The horn that extends from the box is a plastic,
but "tuned" air bell (same theory as the mikuni "stacks'), and it's removal
and replacement with a fabricated part must be researched more than
"elimination" theory, might want to think "extension" first then "heat"
protection next, then engineer the replacement....  Might have something for
you on this soon.....  Not just lookin
