Intermittent radio volume knob

Ok..this is an easy one, my Delta radio (yup, the one that displays the radio
station info on the dash) is acting up when it's been on a while.

The volume knob intermittently turns the radio on and off when I turn the
volume down.  The funny thing is the thing works fine when i turn the volume
up.  Now my guess is that the volume pot needs some cleaning.  The catch is
I don't have the instruction to enter the code back in after I remove the
radio.

Could someone please send the necessary procedures to enter the code after
the radio has been removed ??  I do have the code for the radio :).
