*Manusl-shift gear oil

      Brooks,

          I don't know if the gear oil ever needs to be changed.  It would seem
 to me that it WILL need to be replaced at some point in time.  I've been think
ing about it too--just b/c because I'd like smoother shifts.  It might help, th
en again it might not.  If you'd like it done (regardless of whether it's neces
sary), I'm sure the local Audi dealer would be willing to do it, as long as you
 cut them a large check for their (needed?) efforts.  In all seriousness though
, if you usually use the dealership, have them check out the problem for you--t
hey'll tell you if they think it needs the gear oil changed.  They never turn d
own your $$!  Believe me.
