Yup, lots of merit to diesels - particularily when you push the air in with
a turbo.

And, in case the engine of my 5kTQ ever packs it in, I've got an '81 vintage
5 cyl diesel sitting in the corner of my garage with a little less than
100K miles on it.  I figure the intake/exhause manifold patterns are the
same as the gas engine, so I might be able to come up with a 5kTDQ or
whatever ya want to call it  :-)
