     The ur-Q was designed for road use with 200 HP. It was then "de-tuned" to
     160 HP for the American market. I suspect that the original 200 HP was
     acheived in a de-tuned state from what was then the present state of
     development, to insure a long and reliable life for Audi's then
     top-of-the-line prestige and radical technology car.

Don't forget "insurance" rates, not to mention "Federalization" (aka
EPA/pollution/et al).

Then again, Audi seems bound and determined to avoid any sort of "high
performance" image here in the colonies . . .
