I'll vote for the speedo cable.  My '87 4KQ has the noisest speedo cable 
in captivity.  Even had it replaced under warranty--many miles ago.  when 
the temp. drops to arounf 25 F or so it starts to chatter.  Colder it 
gets the louder it seems to get--although maybe that is just my teeth 
chattering.

Aside to Chris in Milwaukee.  It must get a lot colder in Milw. than in 
Racine, I've never dialed my seat heaters past 4.  The smell of my butt 
smoldering just wrecks my whole day :-)
