I use a different verion of the same idea that I call "press & hold
steady".
1) disengage clutch
2) shift to neutral
3) engage clutch
4) press throttle to increase engine RPM to proper speed to match engine
RPM to road speed
for the next gear to be selected, hold engine RPM at correct &
steady speed with throttle
5) disengage clutch, while maintaining correct engine RPM with throttle
6) select desired gear, while maintaing correct engine RPM with throttle
7) engage clutch, while maintaining correct engine RPM with throttle
Not as hard as it sounds and is smoother Vs the "double blip"
methodology.
When done *perfectly* you can skip the disengage/engage clutch steps, 1,
3, 5 & 7. Replace step 1 with modulate throttle to remove all load
(accel/decel) between engine & trans.
