Gray Market Ads

Hmmmm... Then we should give Ned and Superchips and Dinan and Hypertech all
equal time, and then later, whoever else comes down the pike? My argument
is that this is (and DanS confirmed with his response to the ad thing) a
third party net, by definition.... Altho I have views and experience with
most of the tuners on the audi trail (and most know my incline), in my rookie
5 months on this net, I have made a point never to post "sales tech" info or
even a phone # for that matter, in the interest of protecting the sanctity of
the independence of thoughts quattro.ans allows us.... What might have been
acceptable would have been a post saying "hey, I got a letter from trevor and
would be willing to send it to whomever wants it, directly (and I prolly
would have bit).... Or, even a paraphrase or edited version of the nuts and
bolts, not the desclaimer or the Total Audi needs thing, that to me is
blatent advertising, whether intentional by the "poster" or not (and not, me
thinks he felt he was doing the right thing).... This was an inadvertant
error of post, and a gray area for sure, cuz we'd all like to know the magic,
but does anyone think, no matter how cutthroat (and lord knows this net can
wield a pretty deadly sword, ******* insert OJ joke) we'd get, that the
answers would be any more specific? Tap and all the others are in business,
not to reveal secrets that would make their upgrades obsolete (had to use
that word from him) or easily copyable, but to put their products in the
limelight, that is, to sell YOU, to get your money... That's exactly what
happend, Trevor told us nothing of technical value and got to spew the ad on
the most exclusive target market available to the audi parts supplier.....
My opinion and resolve as always... remains true to the spirit of the net
