Re: S4/S6 Cell phone

Hi Steve. I have an 1993 S4 with the phone. Just like the handwritting
recognition,
it sorta-mostly works. It always responds to me, but never my wife!
Of course,
sometimes it responds to the stereo, and sometimes I wonder what the
heck in my
conversation sounded like "Turn on telephone". Never mixed up 'where'
though.

General comments...I've had my car for 2 trouble free years, taken it
on a race
driving school (<VBG>), and enjoyed fantastic performance, even in a
Canadian
winter! Only expensive item was the bill for a broken headlamp
($$$$$$), which is
now the same on the A6 as well.

If I can answer any other questions, let me know!

Subject: S4/S6 Cell Phone

Hi All -

I joined this list as a result of a new and growing interest in
Audi's, specifically, the S6. I am curious to know if any of
you have one of these beasts - or an S4 - and can comment
on the effectiveness of the "voice activated" cellular phone
that is a standard option. I must confess to being very
suspicious of the ability of this thing to work reliably. Probably
the result of too much time spent working on handwriting
recognition... Anyway, do these phones work? How well?
Ever get conflicts with radio or other sound sources? Say
"Home" and get "Work", etc... Salesman guarantees it works
great - but what else would he say :)

In fact, while I am at it, if you have other comments about the car
I would be very interested to hear them. Maybe direct email
unless there is general interest in the list... I have exorcised
most of the demons associated with Audi's reputation - but the
more data points the better... especially given the cost of a S6!

Thanks for any input you can provide.
