5KCSTQ: Cooling System

OKAY,

I know this has probably been covered and is in the archives (I have yet to
figure out how to get at them through Compuserve, and I'm an internet newbie),
but I need a little help.

First,
I want to test the 3-speeds of the radiator fan on my 87 5000 cstq(I think I've
only ever heard one speed) the Bentleys doesn't have a test procedure in it????
Second,
I want to test the aux water pump to verify operation.
Third, 
Has anyone installed the "engine cooling fan after-run modification" thats in
the Bentleys section 19.8???

Any help would be appreciated.
