1984 4000S ---- what is it worth?

Hello everyone,
I would appreciate any comments on the 1984 4000S 4-cylinder automatic.  I
am about to by one. It has 212,000 miles on it (!!),  but appears to be in
a very good condition, both mechanical and overall -- like new though
original interior, almost no rust etc. The 4-cylinder engine is strong,
and the car feels extremely solid to me.  What do you think is a fair price
for it? What are the things to check first if I get it?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

PS does anybody know if these engines damage valves if the timing belt
breaks on a running engine?
