Adjusting idle switch

Well, I found out today that my idle switch is not making a connection
when the throttle is at idle.  The Bentley manual says to take the
throttle body off to adjust the switch.
Has anyone done this?  How difficult is it?
Being at school, I only have a very limited set of tools, and so I'm
hesitant to tackle a job that is this involved.  Can the switch be adjusted
while the throttle body is still on the car, just removing the vacuum hoses
and using an especially long screwdriver?  :)

I appreciate any info or experience on this.
