It is not neccessary to change the springs when you change the shocks, but if
they have not been changed yet change them now while you're in there.  I
can't tell you how many 4KCSQs I have seen on the road that I can pick out
that they have not replaced the original springs.  So many of these cars out
there look like they are driving up hill!  The EOM springs on this car seem
to go away fairly quickly for some reason.
