As far as I know the paint on my '83 TQC is original apart from some 
touchups.  As you mentioned the rear deck is black from the hinges to the 
first crease.  The indented area for the license plate is also black, but 
not the bottom edge of the trunk lid.

Re: audi sport stripes?
One thing I have been wondering about is the pinstriping on my coupe that 
runs along the lower crease of the doors and onto the front and rear 
bumpers.  I find it hard to believe that the German elves who built this 
would have pinstriped it at the factory.  Was this a dealer addition?
