Have you tried using Armour All on it?  If it has gotten to the
point where the rubber is no longer pliable, then I'm afraid it
won't work well.  Armour All also works great on the black
mouldings around your car.   I'd hate to think of what a new one
would cost you... ready to make a sacrifice to the Audi gods huh?
