When you disconnect the idle stabilizer, the engine should die. Mine
does. But, check the CO adjustment on the fuel distributer and the idle
speed screw on the throttle body.
My car had almost the same problem, and after some tweaking of the CO
adjustment with a 3mm allen wrench, and appropriate tweaking of the idle
screw, it worked very well.
If the car doesn't die when you disconnect the idle stabilizer, it is
probably bad. You might have to replace it before you can get everything
to work properly.
