This has happened to me a few times as well although my habit of leaving the
ground wire loose on the terminal (making it easy to twist off without tools
in the event of an electrical fire ... Yes, I've had one!) no doubt added to
the problem. This also comes in handy for immobilising the car whenever you
park in a bad neighborhood ... a professional thief might know the battery's
mounted under the rear seat but nobody else does!
