Subject: 1990 Audi 80 (2.0)

Hi:

My name is Mark Holcomb and I'm a Computer Engineer for the Marine Corps.
(civilian) I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with a
question I have about my 1990 Audi 80 with 2.0 16V 4cyl. After it has been
sitting for about 30 minutes or longer (but still warm) it will not start
the first try. It always stalls and acts like it's running on 2 or 3
cylinders and then clears up. The car is in perfect condition (almost) and
has about 60K miles. I've had it to 2 different Audi dealers and they have
been unable to solve the problem. They have replaced the fuel pump and
filter and the seals on the injectors. They even replaced the air flow
regulator. Besides getting better gas mileage now, the starting problem is
unchanged. They are now telling me that this is normal for this car and
that Audi knows about the problem. They are calling it injector bleed,
which actually makes sense. However I can't imagine that there isn't some
kind of anti-bleed/siphon valve somewhere in the injector system. I would
greatly appreciate any info your or someone you know has on this.

Thanks
Mark Holcomb
