R & R exhaust manifold

My 875KCSTQ is in the shop.  Bad leak in exhaust manifold - real loud, rough
running (inadequate back pressure).  Getting the manifold off has taken
several days.  Two studs broke, unable to drill out the #5.  Had to resort
to pulling the head to get the broken stud out.

Now the manifold is too badly cracked to repair - must replace.  New is
$850, can't find used one.

Questions:  Should it really have been this difficult?
  Does anyone have or know where to get the manifold?
