QCUSA: Northern California Chapter Formation Meeting Notice [long]

In order to provide more service to its members, the Quattro Club, USA
(QCUSA) has started the process of forming local chapters in various parts
of the country. I have agreed to act as coordinator for the formation of
the Northern California chapter of QCUSA. I have received a chapter form-
ation proposal from the national headquarters and a list of the names of
all QCUSA members in the state. I have also been in contact with chapter
coordinators in other parts of the country.

I took the membership list and sat down with a California map to determine
how the members are distributed throughout the state. I found that there
are 40-50 members in Southern California, in an area stretching from Goleta
in the north and west, to Lake Arrowhead in the east and Coronado in the
south. There are no members in the area north of Santa Barbara to around
Monterey and Fresno, while the members in the northern part of California
range from there north to Mount Shasta. By far the highest concentration
of QCUSA members is in the area around San Francisco. I count about 60
members in the triangle described by San Rafael, Concord and Morgan Hill.
There are groups of 5-10 members in the Monterey Bay Area as well as the
Sacramento metropolitan area. I counted a total of eighty QCUSA members in
what I have defined as the Northern California region.

We have scheduled a meeting to discuss the formation of a northern Califor-
nia chapter of QCUSA to be held on Saturday, 5 August 1995 at 1:00 p.m. at
the offices of Rendition (so kindly offered by Jay Eisenlohr). The primary
orders of business will be the consideration of the chapter formation pro-
posal and a discussion of the types of events the chapter will sponsor for
its members. We have contacted representatives of other regional organiza-
tions of other automotive enthusiast clubs to allow us to compare this to
the QCUSA proposal, and would appreciate inputs from all who are members of
other similar organizations. The primary goal of this effort is to provide
more service to the members of QCUSA in northern California. After this
business has concluded there should be sufficient opportunity to compare
notes with other owners and to review some Audi video tapes. I apologize
for the short notice, especially for those people who would have to travel
some distance to attend. Feel free to invite others; it is not mandatory
that you be a QCUSA member to attend. If at all possible I would appreciate
a RSVP so that we will have a idea of how many will be attending.

If you need directions to Rendition, please contact me by e-mail or phone.
