Re: Re Proposal for Improving our Active Club

Howdy, from Yer Kindly ol' Unka Bart, back at last among the email gifted, from
a week with no access (shudder)... (1266 messages awaiting my return, talk about
a sore "d"-key finger...)

[Caution! <minimal> actual Q-car content follows:] I had the great pleasure of
meeting a bunch of Q-heads while travelling last week; Steve Bucholtz and Linnus
Toy came to soak up some suds in San Jose, and Steve showed up with his own UR-Q
and a bunch of excellent photos of the largest concentration of Ur-Qs I've ever
seen (I think there were 9 of them in a veritable rainbow of colors) taken at a
recent gathering with the fortunate.

Steve showed his baby to me and Jim Pasha (who writes the water-pumper technical
articles for "Excellence" (an all Porsche) Mag. Jim made the interesting
observation that a 951 engine (944 turbo) will bolt right in to the engine bay
of a Quattro. Hmmmmmm...(the sound of heavy clanking is heard, and the inky
black smoke boiling out of Yer Kindly ol' Unka Bart's ear-holes indicates some
pretty heavy ponderin' is going on...)

In Seattle, John Eickerman and John Tilden gave me the great pleasure of joining
me to talk about our favorite German metal. Alas, a 0400 wake-up put a severe
damper on my ability to hang around as long as I wished - sorry guys.

But, on the subject at hand, Eddi Jew so sucinctly points out the problems with
splitting the list that Yer Kindly ol' Unka Bart hasta wonder if he's been
reading my mind (Yeah, I know, pretty light reading at that...)

Yep, that about sums it up for me. (Yer Kindly ol' Unka) Bart
