UPDATE: 80Q acceleration problem

Who cares about finding the meaning of life?  I just want to figure my car out!

First, thanks to all the kind souls who took the time to respond to my
acceleration problem (where my mechanic suspected a bad clutch).  I just had to
write to share the latest news.

On my way to work yesterday morning, I was stopped at a light at the bottom of
a hill.  When the light turned green, I stepped on the throttle expecting the
same sluggishness that I had experienced thus far.  Much to my surprise, the
car lurched forward, I heard a sound like what you hear when someone lets out a
deep breath after holding it, and I saw a big puff of white exhaust smoke
billow around the car behind me.  Lo and behold, the car accelerated
beautifully (well, as beautifully as a stock 80Q can!)  It feels worlds better
now.  This morning, it felt even better.  

Wow!  A self-repairing Audi!  Now if it would only fix the problems with the
trip computer, guages, etc.

Again, thanks for all your help, support and encouragement.  What a great
bunch!
