I can also attest to the fantastic stopping power of Cool Carbon pads, hot or
cold, due to the high coeff. of friction. I use them for autox as well as
track events. They also wear well but as others have noted are extremely
noisy on the street and the black carbon dust builds up fast requiring more
frequent cleaning of wheels. I have the Blue compound on my 944T. They're
also pricey at $250/set for all 4 wheels. I usually switch back to stock pads
for the winter season since I don't drive the car much in the winter.
BTW, Cool Carbon is the brand name for a proprietary carbon kevlar compound,
Porterfield is another brand name. $500 is way too much.
