The shop that diagnosed the faulty fool distributor and
warm-up regulator guessed that the failure of these
components could have been due to crap spewed
by the fool pump, or more likely by over-pressurization,
or both.
I do not know how the failed pump would/could cause
over-pressurization or how the crap could get through
the filter, unless the particles were VERY small.
Replacement of the dist and regulator did fix the
problem, stalling, erratic idle and poor perf.
Who knows for sure with an ur-Q....?
