Boge shocks for Audi 90 Q 20 V

There was some discussion about Boge shocks on the list here a while back,
and now I find myself needing to replace the right front shock on my 1990
90 Q 20V. I have been thinking about getting some firmer shocks anyway, and
was thinking of replacing the original shocks with Boge TurboGas shocks instead. 

   -- how much stiffer are these shocks than the originals? Will the ride be 
      fairly harsh?

   -- I'd rather not go all-out and replace all four shocks right now; will 
      just replacing the front shocks work, or will screw up the handling completely?
