selling '88 5KCSTQ Avant

Dear Quattro fans,
The time has come for me to sell my 5KCSTQ Wagon. I no longer need a
wagon (Finished major house renovation), and am getting the sports-car
itch (possible early onset of mid-life crisis?). BTW, anyone with an UrQ
or 944 interested in a trade?

I'm taking the liberty of posting what I think is an honest description
of the car and my asking price.

It's an '88 5000CS TQ Wagon, 116,000 miles, burgundy w/ grey
leather interior.

Mechanically: In good shape, except for an exhaust, or exhaust manifold
leak which makes a clicking noise, it's had this ever since I bought
it & I've never bothered to fix it. Also the A/C compressor clutch
is slipping (a $100 - $150 part I believe).

Car has no chip or computer upgrades.

Body: Plenty of dings & paint chips due to careless previous owner.
Car has been repaired from a rear-ender - new hatch, quarter panel etc.

Overall, paint looks "dullish" to me, but not too bad.

Interior - a couple of small tears in the leather, otherwise pretty good.
Seat memory function inoperative (power seat adjustment works fine). Seat
heaters work fine also. So do all the other gadgets. Floor mats badly worn.

Good stuff: 4 brand new BFG Comp/TA VR4 205/60 all season tires.
New Boge shocks - Turbo Gas on front, Hydraulic on rear.
New suspension bushings, tie rod ends.
Freshly rebuilt alternator, new battery, radiator, A/C condensor.
New Brake pressure accumulator ("bomb"). (1 year ago).
Repco metalmaster brake pads, turned rotors.
New Oxygen sensor, belts, hoses, filters, 3 terminal temp sensor.
timing belt, water pump, front crank seal replaced <10K miles ago.
New valve lifters, valve cover gasket.
Engine uses no oil, turbo fine, 1.4 bar boost.

To summarize, not a pristine looking car by any means, but some attention
could make it look nice again. Mechanically, a lot of the things that fail
have been replaced recently, so it should stay solid & reliable.

Asking price: $6500
