Hey, I resent the implications of your remarks ... my daily-driver 5000 is
an automatic and I wouldn't have it any other way.  My commute is 22 miles
each way and there are 18 stoplights between my home and the office ... if
I'm lucky, I usually make the trip in 50 minutes; if not, it takes an hour.
My car averages 25mpg with the a/c on during the summer (and 25mpg without
a/c but using oxygenated fuel during the winter ... sigh) so the price I'm
paying for the very real convenience of not shifting isn't all that great.

My play cars are another matter, of course, and I wouldn't dream of having
an automatic in one of those...
