RE: Differential Lock Mod

I have seen a couple of different diff lock mods implemented
on TQCs. With the lack of instrumentation on this model and
the relatively large chuck of real estate used in the center
console for just a plunger and 2 lights, it's just begging to be
changed. Here are the various mods I have seen:

The idea I keep talking myself out of (I have *plenty* to do, thank
you; I certainly don't more projects!) is to pull that damn vacuum
switch out completely and replace it with a [pair of, to indepen-
dently control center and rear diffs] electric-switched vacuum switchs
like I used for the AC/Fresh-air flap gizmo [long story; in short the
little nipples on the A/C/Heat control head were broken off, and I
wanted the A/C to work, as well as Heat, and needed control over the
vacuum servo to control the fresh air et al flap] mounted in the rear
area twixt rear seat and fuel tank. You can even incorporate the lock
light into the lighted switch(s), which can be flexibly placed almost
anywhere you can route a few more wires! Then I could buy a bunch more
guages . . .
