Schrappnel Knobben Progress Report

Hello All,

Had a great holiday, driving my TQC daily and generally
tearing it up. It was absolutely reliable, incredible!

Schrappnel Knobben Progress Report:

I ran the whole weekend with a zener diode clamp in the
computer to check it out. I will post the voltage pressure
curves later when I remember to bring em in. Monday night I
added in my wastegate controller. The current version has an
added safety feature, a blow off valve between the regulator and
the high side of the wastegate. Thus if the regulator broke,
I would still not overpressure the wastegate and blow an
engine. I ran with an additional 5 psig dialed in. Thus the
82 TQC (yes I said 82) was running between 14 and 15 psig
estimated (not measured). It ran SO strong, I couldn't believe
how restricted the car seemed before.

Fuel Questions

I am running 92 octane without additives. Knock sensor not yet
installed. I would prefer to be at about 94 with 20 psig boost and
knock sensing. How should I get to 94. Can't find 94 at a pump.
Everone sells 92. I can buy 102 octane locally and mix it. I can
also use alchohol based octane booster which seems cheaper than
running the mixed racing fuel. I could also rig up a water injection
system that sprays in water and alchohol at WOT. I scored a trunk
mounted resevoir and pump at the junk yard ;-) Comments, results?

Thanks in advance,
