V8 Purchase Decision

I have been offered a reasonably priced 90 model V8 with 86,000 km (roughly
54,000 miles) on it. It appears to be in excellect condition & has full
history.
My questions for the gurus are:
- What are the expensive things hich go wrong with these cars?
-Are there things that should have been done to the car beside regular
servicing?
-If the car is fitted with infernal calipers:
What problems are to be expected?
                Can they be easily replaced?
Are they a reason to not buy the car?
-If you own or have owned a V8, was/is the experience worthwhile?

I am looking for a comfortable car with reasonable performance (relative to
my Ur-Q) to use as my daily driver. In Australia, Audi has severly
restricted our choices. There is no slushbox option on any quattro except
the V8 & A8. Since I want an auto to drive through the 32 set of lights on
the way to work, & I haven't got $200,000 to buy the A8,its either a V8 or
a non Audi.

Any info gratefully received
