re. Fog Lights

I have an 88 5ks (FWD), I got my fog light kit from my Audi dealer. The
lights are clear lens halogen fog lights made for Audi by Bosch & sold as an
Autobahn part. The P/N ZVW 123 001 is designed specifically for the Audi and
very easy to install. They mount to brackets (P/N ZAW 123 023) that are VERY
heavy duty, they are designed to attach to the body behind the lower grill &
protrude from the lower grill. I found them difficult to install, so I paid
$40 to have my mechanic install them. Then you'll need an OE switch to
install in your dash. You can also use a switch kit, which will locate the
switch in a pod that can be mounted in another location. I used P/N 443 941
535B which is a 3 position switch (the parts guy at the dealer swore it was
the right part) that mounted in the dash and matches the other switches. The
diagram for the wire connections given in the instructions wasn't real clear
so I had my mechanic show me which terminals to hook up to. He wasn't able to
find a good diagram so he used a multi-meter to check the resistance of the
terminals. One side effect of the 3 position switch is that you'll blow a
fuse if it's pressed the wrong way. The whole thing looks very clean and
factory installed. I think my total cost was about $200. I hope this helps.
